· Support for our nationally-distributed Windows environment, including working knowledge of the windows stack, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Exchange 2007, Group Policy & Security
· The ability to participate effectively in multiple project efforts, meeting deadlines and provide technical expertise
· Producing documentation that describes the systems, procedures, events and associated processes
· Responding to & resolving server issues in time to meet our SLA obligations This also includes after-hours break fix support in an on-call rotation system
· Involvement in full system life cycle management including meeting project deadlines, racking, installing, monitoring, backup and recovery, performance tuning & patching following established server standards
· Actively participating as a strategic member of the technology team, including participating in meetings and providing third-level technical support for our users
· Outstanding written communication skills and the ability to work within a team and independently on assignments
· Provide 3rd level support through our help desk process and ticketing system.
· Adhere to change control and incident response polices.
Qualifications
Candidate Profile and Experience Prerequisites
Required Skills:
· 6+ years of experience in windows server technologies
· Taking ownership and managing current environment using, Active Directory, Exchange server 2007, SCCM, Symantec Anti Virus, Storage (Dell/EMC), DNS, VMWare, security patches, Network backups
· Expert in installation, optimization, maintenance and security of DNS, Windows 2003 server, Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange 2007, VMWare, Symantec Anti Virus, WSUS, SCCM, any SAN/NAS storage, EMC Networker or other backup solution
· Expert in maintaining and administrating a distributed network of remote servers
· Familiar with or certified on Dell and IBM hardware
· Strong project methodology skills. Must be familiar with requirement analysis, testing, and rollout strategies. Must be comfortable working in a development environment with version control, peer review, and test-driven development & QA processes
· Must be able to be both a team player and depended on to provide exemplary results while working on projects independently
Preferred but not required:
· SAN Administration Experience, preferably EMC related
· Backup/Restore Technologies, preferably EMC Networker
· Citrix Farm administration
· VMware support and administration
· Security related Experience specifically, IAS, ISA & SSL
· Windows Server 2008
· MCSE/MCSA Certification or on track a plus
· BES & SharePoint server administration
· Scripting ( PowerShell, vbscript, perl etc. )
Academic Qualifications:
· A four year degree or more in Computer Science, MIS or relevant work experience.
