Financial Services BI/DW Subject Matter Experts
• 10+ years of experience with minimum 6 years in developing and designing large scale business intelligence, data integration, data analysis and reporting solutions
• Exceptional expertise in multiple BI and ETL tools (including, not limited to): Oracle BI EE, Microsoft BI, BusinessObjects, Cognos, Microstrategy, Informatica, IBM DataStage, OWB
• Strong expertise in multiple databases and their features commonly used for BI/DW (including but not limited to): Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Sybase, Teradata, Netezza etc.
• Strong data modeling skills including dimensional modeling
• Extensive experience in creating logical/physical architectures
• Knowledge of different types of environments (development, staging, testing and production), environment sizing, build and release, capacity planning
• Experience with financial services solutions preferred (asset management, hedge funds, investment banking, commodity trading)
• Experience with agile software development methodologies preferred (Scrum, Lean PMBK.)
• Openness to travel and work at client offices in the Boston area. The Work:
• Lead all aspects of BI/DW system architecture (conceptual, logical, physical) using deep expertise in applying industry reference architectures in context of client needs and environments
• Drive selection of appropriate solutions including packages and custom software solutions
• Independently lead the estimation effort for the BI/DW pieces of an engagement
• Review estimates and implementation plans and identify gaps
• Establish technical frameworks and approaches for solution development
• Lead dimensional modeling and data analysis efforts
• Challenge technical design for the given business problem when appropriate
• Work with delivery teams to improve their architecture and tool knowledge
• Help resolve complex technical issues
• Strong communication and facilitation skills, mentor and grow team members
• Share best practices and lessons learnt across multiple teams
• Prepare pieces of sales proposals and strongly portray technical expertise
