Primary Skills:        
Description:    Work for a broker-dealer with day-to-day responsibilities which include: 
· P&L reconciliation 
· Daily net capital calculations 
· Monitoring of foreign currency exposure 
· Preparation of check requests 
· Month end close responsibilities for 2 entities (broker dealer & Asset backed) which includes booking of accrual entries 
· Maintenance of accrual schedules 
· Preparation of monthly Focus management report 
· Intercompany reporting and reconciliation 
· Quarterly 17H filing 
· Assist in preparation of audited financial statements 
· Other accounting and administrative tasks as needed 
· Various accounting projects 

EXPERIENCE: 

5-10 years of working in an accounting department of a small to medium size financial services company or 3-6 years working in public accounting firm (either big 4 or medium sized accounting firm). 

Candidate must have strong accounting skills and be willing to take on new challenges. Successful candidates must have the ability to multi-task as well as work under pressure and meet all required deadlines. In addition, candidates should be motivated, team players and have a strong sense of responsibility and an attention to detail. 

SKILLS: 

· BA/BS in Accounting 
· CPA preferred 
· Proficient in Excel; working knowledge of macros 
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
