Description: 110-year-old company with over 6,000 employees which has a presence in North America and internationally has a permanent need for a SAP Sr.Plant Maintenance Applications Analysts.
This position would have direct responsibility for all configuration and support of the SAP R/3 enterprise system for Plant Maintenance module. The Senior Application Analyst guides IT colleagues, key business-users, and business process owners in identifying functional requirements and implementing effective SAP information systems. The Senior Application Analyst guides the business process owners to evaluate their business processes in order to define, eliminate, simplify, and automate the activities comprising each business process.
Recommends automated solutions, and (once approved) guides business process owners and their direct reports in the design, configuration, development (as needed), and support of SAP applications that support the business requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
40% Application configuration and support; Configure and support SAP modules to meet business needs; Unit test SAP software applications (including customizations and interfaces; Guide SAP application developers by recommending ways to develop applications.
30% Application analysis and design; Assist SAP users analyze and identify business process requirements; Develop SAP functional application designs specifications (individually or collaboratively); Work as a member of cross-functional teams and add value by providing technical perspective; Guide application developers by recommending ways to design and unit-test applications.
20% Change management and support; Provide QA function by reviewing/testing developers' work; Guide users in integrated testing, conference room pilot activities and applications start-up activities; Facilitate the process of change by clarifying new procedures and training system users.
10% Project management and control; Manage small projects (with responsibility for the quality and timeliness of project deliverables; Direct project resources and/or recommend and create internal development procedures and methodologies; Understand scope and planned estimates of undertaken activities and manage actual time relative to the planned estimates.
This position is directly responsible for critical aspects of SAP systems (including configuration, testing, migration, and training. This position can work directly with users to ensure acceptable unit or integrated application test results. This position leads others in defining operating procedures for business system users and leads users during conference room pilot activities.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 5 years of experience in hands-on configuration in SAP PM
Knowledge in SAP PP highly desirable
Oil industry experience a plus
Thinks business process first not software technology but with an orientation to best business practices
Ability to work overtime or to work within a flexible schedule as necessary.
Travel is limited to 15-20%
