This position is located at a Business Unit HQ in West Palm Beach, FL and is responsible for the protection of the company's physical assets and employees and the efficient control of property and casualty risks & costs.  Develop and monitor programs designed to prevent and control losses.  Responsible for managing the Cargo Claims Department and processes.  This position maintains, renews, and negotiates external insurance policies and rates.  Additional responsibilities include:

 

* Maintains and reviews all insurance policies and bonds.

* Researches and evaluates alternative insurance markets, companies, and methods of coverage.

* Negotiates specific coverages and rates with underwriters and brokers.

* Reviews claims to identify trends and analyzes losses.

* Works with operational areas to mitigate continued losses and minimize company exposure.

* Manages Cargo Claims department to ensure claims are filled and resolved efficiently.

* Reviews corporate contracts, leases, agreements, and operations for liability impact, indemnity provisions and insurance requirements.

* Investigates, handles recovery efforts for losses sustained by the company due to third party actions or natural catastrophes.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An MBA would be a plus.

5+ years of relevant experience in risk management and claims assessment..

You should have the ability to use PC-based automated software tools, proficiency with spreadsheets, project management exposure, risk-based assessments, excellent communication skills. Industry experience in maritime, shipping, transportation or logistics would be a plus.
