Description:   

• Degree (PhD with minimum of 8 years of asset or investment management experience, MBA with minimum of 12 years of asset or investment management experience, or BS with minimum of 14 years of asset or investment management experience)

 

• Broad knowledge and professional experience in asset management, licensing practices, preferably with investment bank or venture capital experience, preferred field of expertise Agriculture (at least 12 years)

 

• Excellent understanding of asset management including valuation, transaction, and innovation management processes

 

• Outstanding experience in managing complex strategic portfolios and projects

 

• Proven experience to work with various stakeholders

 

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent presentation skills

 

• Outstanding organization skills, negotiating and influencing skills

 

• Relationship management skills

 

• Solution / goal and action oriented.

 

 

• Oversee and ensure execution for the transaction (in/out) of R&D technology (prior proof of commercial concept) for all indications by preparing the relevant information to drive internal decision and by negotiating jointly or in liaison with the respective  functions (Business Development and Licensing (BD&L), Legal, IP) with third party

 

• Develop, oversee and deliver on the implementation plan for Venture Capital investment by identifying and assessing opportunities, preparing the relevant information to drive internal decision

 

• Ensure operational readiness, alignment of activities and execution oversight to deliver on the implementation plan for R&D licensing by:

-Planning, identifying and fostering interaction with the private sector innovation networks

-Improving processes for executing an agreed deal flow timelines

-Coordinating with relevant functions the valuation of R&D technology, expectations/risks

-Reporting on execution of the implementation plan

 

• Ensure operational readiness, alignment of activities and Execution oversight to deliver on the implementation plan for Venture Capital Investment by:

 

-Planning, identifying and fostering interaction with the Venture Capital community

 

-Establishing and improving processes in liaison with other business units for executing an agreed implementation plan

 

-Establishing a reliant metrics monitoring process/system (KPIs) and track metrics on Venture Capital investments-Coordinating budget/resource/timing expectations/risks

-Organizing and/or attending regular meetings with key stakeholders

 

• Lead the R&D licensing extended team activities and act as coach

For team members up to Best in Class norms and model successful management behaviors including people development. Establish and ensure that relevant governance and best practices do prevent any Intellectual Property contamination and risks to R&D

 

• Act as liaison manager with the Venture Capital and investment community in the field of Agriculture and Biotech and represent the strategic interest

 

• Leverage synergy across the organization and corporate to optimize the implementation of Licensing and Venture Capital investment by exchanging best practices, common processes, information management, etc.

 

• Ensure effective communication within the division and the corporate group through management excellence by organizing regular meetings, reporting and pro-actively resolving any issues
