Job Description:	Function: Identify and review business unit data needs, deficiencies, and excesses.  Identify and understand how data is used and accessed.  Work to realign and tune the physical data structure to maximize database performance. Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues. Define, document and implement the necessary database objects necessary to ensure the integrity (edit consistency, logical relationship consistency, and data policy rule compliance) of the organization's data resources. Review and approve data analysis and logical database design for all new applications.  Work with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures. Draft and maintain policies, standards, and procedures to facilitate the use of the Bank's data resources. Install, test and implement new versions and fixes to the Bank's database management systems, as necessary.    Requirements: BS/BA in Computer Science or other related business area preferred. Communicates clearly and concisely, presents ideas in user-friendly language and has good presentation and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities. Good working knowledge of planning, project management, and quality assurance as it relates to database development projects. Good working knowledge of Sybase ASE, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database 10g. Good working knowledge of project management software, such as Microsoft Project. Good understanding of design and development of distributed applications.
