Very visible and highly promotable position. This is a Java developer with strong web development background. Web technology is the front end. Need to have HTML/DHTML, Javascript, CSS. Flash is a plus. Core Java skills. Not just J2EE types. The Sales desktop team is responsible for creating and maintaining many of the features on the desktop which utilizes the Institutional Portal infrastructure. Selling technology to upper management. User base is global Equities and Fixed Income sales.

Job Description:	Job Title Job Level Sales Tech - Java Desktop Dev - AD02 (19804) Associate Report Group Business Unit Technology Sub-Division Status Open Location Employment Type New York Full Time Regular Requirements Experienced Java developer to work on development of the Sales Desktop application. The Sales desktop team designs and implements the Sales Desktop application. The Sales Desktop is a Web based application to consolidate clients and market related data. Principal Responsibilities: The Sales desktop team is responsible for creating and maintaining many of the features on the desktop which utilizes the Institutional Portal infrastructure. Institutional Portal infrastructure is written primarily in Java, and uses many web-based technologies including Tomcat, Apache, JavaScript and AJAX. Portal relies heavily on open-source software. Databases include Sybase and DB2 UDB, and other technologies include Perl and shell scripting. A successful candidate will be responsible for working with various technology team teams to integrate their contents to the Sales desktop. The candidate will build new features and services for the Sales desktop, and enhancements to the existing infrastructure. The candidate is responsible for the complete lifecycle of Portal feature development. Experience / Skills: Must have 3 or more years of solid Java experience including multithreading, synchronization, collections, and common Java design idioms Very good knowledge of HTML/DHTML, Javascript and CSS. Knowledge of Flash/Actionscript programming is a plus. Knowledge of AJAX programming toolkits is a plus. Good analytical and troubleshooting skills Nice to Have Sybase/DB2 experience including development of stored procedures and TSQL Good graphic design skills Perl and shell scripting Linux Knowledge about other open source technologies such as Velocity and Ant
