Job Description:	Developer with at least 8 years of experience to work within the Intranet Technology group to provide technology solutions for the Operations division. The Operations division  partners with trading, sales, and asset management to enter new markets, launch new products and actively manage the transactions executed by the firm. The division is also central to managing the firm's operational risk. The Intranet group is part of the Technology division and is responsible for the technologies used in the day-to-day management of much of the  corporate intranet and the firm's collaborative workspace. These technologies include a homegrown Java-based Content Management System (Kiwi), the firm's proprietary intranet portal application (ELM), and Microsoft SharePoint, which is used for document management and collaboration. The Operations division is creating an internal tool set and intranet presence which will require development of new functionality in all three systems. The Intranet group is seeking a developer to focus on these projects. This person must have solid .NET/C# and Java knowledge and experience, as well as system engineering skills (i.e., technical and application architectures, database, operating systems, and networking). Practical experience is required in the key disciplines of object-oriented software development including analysis, design, and programming. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: As a member of the Intranet Technology group, this person's primary responsibility will be to develop solutions to support the Operations division. This person will work with Operations professionals to refine requirements for these solutions, and will develop tools that leverage Kiwi, ELM and SharePoint as well as add significant new functionality to the products. This person must be organized, self-directed, able to document and report progress regularly to the team, and able to set and meet project milestones and deadlines. EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Application development experience in UNIX, Linux, and Windows environments .NET/C# experience Java/J2EE experience Strong knowledge of SQL Experience with J2EE application servers, preferably Tomcat Experience with IIS Strong knowledge of XML/XSL, JavaScript, HTML, Cascading Style Sheets, and associated technologies Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase or other enterprise database systems Excellent OOA and OOD skills Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is a plus
