Position Responsibilities

 

  1. Provide 24/7/365 primary support of all LAN and WAN infrastructure for EQD/BPSS businesses in US region.
  2. Should design and implement ECN connectivity  to major exchanges, execution venues and clearing house in US region. This should be done in coordination with the CORE networking team.
  3. Should proactively monitor and manage multicast feeds from major exchanges like NASDAQ, SFTI, CME, OPRA, etc.
  4. Should proactively monitor and trouble shoot unicast connections to NASDAQ, NYSE, CME, ARCA, ADP, DTCC, ISE, BOX, etc.
  5. Should proactively monitor and manage switches/routers (read/write access) used in  internal networks such as trading floors networks, server farm networks etc (switches that are exclusive to EQD/BPSS businesses).
  6. Maintain complete inventory and documentation of deployed circuits, switches and routers.
  7. Liaise with application, business clients, and firewall team to gather requirements, design and implement resilient and secure network solutions that meet all disaster recovery requirements dictated by the business.
  8. Identify operational and infrastructure risks within the environment and work with the application development team and EQD/BPSS businesses to make corrections and mitigate risks.
  9. Interface and coordinate with external vendors providing and supporting third-party data circuits.
  10. Primary support in troubleshooting complex, cross-platform network related issues. Provide diagnosis.
  11. Track and manage network throughput latencies as directed by application requirements.

 

Position Requirements

 

  1. Detailed knowledge of various networking technologies such as Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, ISDN, Frame Relay, T1, DS3, VPN.
  2. Thorough understanding of TCP/IP, Cisco IOS, CatOS, IP Multicast, VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol, 802.1Q trunking, VTP, ether channel/port channel, HSRP, CDP, CEF, DNS, DHCP, NAT, NetBIOS.
  3. Thorough understanding of routing protocols such as RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
  4. Thorough understanding of multicast routing protocols such as PIM SM, PIM DM
  5. Hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise-level routers (2600/2800, 3600/3700/3800, 7200) and switches (6500, 4500, 3550/3560, 2900) built in a redundant fashion.
  6. Understanding of cabling infrastructure – Cat 5e/6 Ethernet, Fibre, Coax, etc.
  7. Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Cisco Works 2000, Netscout, SolarWinds, Ethereal, MRTG, CA UniCenter, TIBCO Hawk.
  8. Good understanding of firewalls such as Checkpoint or Juniper.
  9. Familiar with secure network access and auditing through SSH and TACACS+.
  10. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Visio for documentation diagrams.
  11. Must be well-organized, responsible, a good project manager, have good verbal and written communication skills, and able to multitask in dynamic trading environment.
  12. Work as a member of a team; adhere to corporate standards and change management processes, and work to improve EQD/BPSS standards and policies.
  13. Highly skilled in providing root cause analysis.
  14. High level knowledge of cause and effect of network related issues.
