Manufacturing/Procurement Secaucus Office

Buyer Salary $ $85k+

Essential Responsibilities Include:

The buyer is responsible to negotiate and place our seasonal line with factories within our sourcing matrix,      at the best possible cost and with acceptable risk profile.

The buyer is responsible for the successful outcome of any order placed, including quality      , timely delivery and end cost.

Strategize order placement for each seasonal line, ex. Build cost targets, proactively work with agents       and offices to analyze costing details, sourcing alternatives opportunities for our products

Good negotiation skills to validate costs and achieve initial markup goal       without compromising our production quality and outlook

Guide and assist Production Manager and Production Coordinator to follow through daily submits and production issues

In depth garment construction, fit and quality level

Communication with overseas offices and vendors

Partner with design, merchant and art team to define our seasonal knit line for critical product construction       and techniques details

Quality control and improvement

Extensive international travel required

Minimum Qualifications Are:

Must have at least 5+ years of high volume Girls apparel buying experience with a national chain

Bachelor's degree

Must have strong knowledge of textile techniques and in depth understanding of garment construction, fit and quality level.

Good understanding of the trim/fabrication/making cost and execute production strategy with internal production team and outside vendors.

Good negotiation skills to validate costs and achieve initial markup goal without compromising our production quality and outlook.

Solid oral and written communication skills

Thorough understanding of garment construction.

Must be a multi-tasker able to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Must have a good sense of urgency, well organized and be flexible/adaptable in a fast paced environment.

Strong retail math and analytical skills are needed.
