Candidates for this position must have strong knowledge of both technology and the securities industry. IT experience should include application development, third-party application configuration and support, data warehousing, information delivery, and infrastructure. Securities knowledge should include fixed income assets, commercial mortgage loans, and derivatives, as well as related analytics and data attributes. Knowledge of quantitative analysis, investment accounting, and securities operations, and related disciplines is also beneficial.
Relevant experience may include:
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant IT experience; 5 or more years experience with investment-specific technologies and investment systems management
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with fixed income order management, asset management, portfolio management, and investment accounting systems such as PAM, Charles River Development, Eagle PACE, and Fixed Income Enterprise
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with real estate/mortgage loan asset management and investment accounting systems such as LMS and Investran
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with derivatives asset management investment accounting systems such as Principia (PAS)
• Experience with fixed income performance and attribution models and
• Strong written and verbal communications skills are required
Job responsibilities include a solutions architect role for Office of Investments IT initiatives, as well as an application architect role for specific major systems development or implementation initiatives. Architecture responsibilities are consistent with the definitions in the IT Career Guide.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics or related technical field. Graduate studies in related areas preferred. Product-related technical insurance course work (CPCU, CPU, LOMA) preferred. Technical certifications preferred.
Experience: Ten years minimum experience in Information Technology field. Experience in leading technical teams.
Knowledge: Must have extensive knowledge in information technology architecture components, principles, procedures and practices. Must have extensive knowledge in information design, controls and audit methodology for business systems and data processing environments. Must have a broad knowledge in information technology trends. Must have a detailed familiarity with applicable operating systems. Must have an in-depth understanding in insurance and financial services business models and operations. Extensive knowledge of project management concepts and techniques required.
Skills/Competencies: Demonstrated expertise in various systems technologies, software development cycle, and relational databases required. Demonstrated knowledge of project management concepts and techniques required. Understanding of customer business environment. Must be fully competent in intranet/internet technologies. Must have strong leadership skills with the ability to work with technical teams including virtual teams. Proven ability to work with technology vendors in the delivery of project solutions.
