Looking for a person to lead the technical design and development of a market data system that supports the trading environment.  The system will use Wombat and Bloomberg’s consolidated data feed, B-Pipe.

The individual will also provide technical vendor management and serve as a subject matter expert on technical and business usage of market data systems.

 

Additional requirements are to maintain / support market data infrastructures and apply trouble-shooting / problem resolution skills when needed.

 

Individual must be self-starter, good communicator, and able to work within a large team. Individual must possess strong analytical skills. The role is in the Equity Derivatives group to lead the design, and implementation of a new market data system that uses Wombat and B-Pipe.   The system will integrate with C++ server applications as well as with .NET front end and will be used by trading applications to provide market data to end users. 

 

Qualifications

·        At least five years hands-on experience with C++ and Sybase

·        Strong knowledge of Tibco RV/RVRD (5.3 and above).

·        Understanding of how Reuters RMDS, Wombat interface with the system is helpful.

·        Strong understanding of market data systems concepts and protocols is desirable but not required.

·        Strong knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN) fundamentals is helpful.

·        Strong understanding of TCP, UDP and Multicast networking. .

·        Strong project management skills: documentation, presentation, etc.

·        Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of market data technologies, delivery platforms and content.

·        Methodical in problem analysis and resolution especially when dealing with technical systems and business applications.  

·        Ability to perform vendor relationship management.  

·        Willingness to own problems until satisfactorily resolved.

·        Ability to mentor and transfer knowledge. Willingness to help with training of other team members.

·        A team player with an aptitude to use initiative while also complying with team standards.

·        Good interpersonal, analytical and communication skills  

·        Ability to work well under pressure. Must have had thorough experience of working in a high-pressure support environment.  

·        An ability to adjust to changing demands.

 

 

In both a highly technical and service oriented role, this candidate will provide leadership in the creation of a market data system that parallels the current Reuters based system.  The new system will utilize a number of third party and in-house APIs. Candidates must be organized and able to multi-task effectively. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
