System Architect. The ideal candidate will be the Chief Architect providing technical leadership over at least one Simulation Training programs and new business pursuits. More specifically, the successful candidate will lead system architecture activities for an Information Services contract, developing and managing a technology roadmap to address customers' needs, providing cohesive solutions that deliver the best value solutions to customers of large-scale, IT-intensive logistics information systems. The selected candidate will be expected to provide demonstrations and presentations of information technologies that reflect customers' immediate and anticipated needs, define technology refresh plans, while integrating emerging federal government initiatives (e.g. IPV6, Secure Desktop, federal Enterprise Architecture) into program operations and leveraging solutions from other parts of the corporation and partners.
Responsibilities will include:
-Eliciting verbal and written requirements from customers;
-Understanding the capabilities customers desire;
-Partnering with program management and business development to align resource investment for the greatest return;
-Developing innovative, executable candidate architectures for formal and informal proposals;
-Identifying and creatively filling strategic gaps in information system solution portfolio;
-Providing systems architecture technical leadership ;
-Partnering with program management and business development to establish and manage strategic relationships;
-Collaborating with engineers of various disciplines across partners and business units to successfully establish effective relationships that enable proposal and delivery of best value information system solutions;
-Identifying risks associated with proposed solutions and effectively mitigating those risks;
-Performing cost-benefit analysis to ensure the delivery of optimal value to customers; and
-Briefing technical proposals to managerment and customers.
The successful candidate will coordinate extensively across multiple integrated product teams to ensure strategic coverage of architecturally significant aspects of information system solutions. The selected candidate will fulfill their responsibilities in Lanham (MD), with moderate travel to customer sites and other sites.
Candidate Must Have :
* A proven track record of defining and winning new business leveraging creative, innovative and executable information system solutions
* Proven Systems Engineering discipline and experience
* Architecture of large commercial off the shelf information technology systems
* Project Management and Successfully leading teams
* Demonstrated superior performance and Solid Systems engineering discipline
