RESPONSIBILITIES: Install and maintain mainframe code and associated software products and/or hardware. Participate in application analysis and design. Lead evaluation, selection, and implementation of software tools and/or hardware. Provide a high level of production support and troubleshooting capability. Acts as the team leader in regards to administrative tasks.

REQUIREMENTS: 1. Install system software and/or hardware and guide architecture for long term support: 10 – 20% 2. Represent or lead the mainframe team in significant application and infrastructure projects, with a focus on leading design efforts to best utilize the mainframe environment: 10 – 20% 3. Evaluate and recommend software tools and/or hardware, following sound testing methodologies, then develop and follow implementation plans: 5 – 10% 4. Provide highest level production support and troubleshooting, and develop solution designs: 10 – 20% 5. Review started task performance and capacity metrics and implement necessary tuning changes: 5 – 10% 6. Provide technical guidance and training to members of the mainframe team, as well as career direction: 10 – 20% 7. Complete assigned administrative tasks, such as staff time tracking, approving change requests, and generating status reports for the team: 20 – 30% 8. Directs and balances team workload assignments: 5 – 10% 9. Perform all other duties as assigned: 5 – 10% Required (minimum): Superior knowledge of z/OS and software internals, such as JES2, IPCS, RMF and system monitoring tools.
