This position is accountable for defining the enterprise architecture vision and future-state architecture strategy for all Information Technology (IT) systems supporting a Portfolio of Business Operating Departments within a multi-billion dollar diversified financial institution. The Portfolio Architect also has primary responsibility to ensure all technology project implementations align with current industry trends, are consistent with IT Architecture and Engineering standards, and link to the Business Unit Strategies. The Portfolio Architect creates and/or reviews large-scale system designs to ensure they will meet both business and technical requirements related reliability, availability, performance, and future scalability. Deliverables include Multi-Year Technology and Application Lifecycle Plans, Solution Alternatives Analysis, Conceptual/Logical Application System Designs, Architecture Position Papers, Technology Presentations and Overviews.

This position is responsible for driving the adoption of the enterprise architecture vision within the Portfolio including identifying opportunities to leverage re-usable Enterprise Technology, Service, and Data assets, as well as employing Enterprise Architecture Design Practices such as Services-Oriented Architecture within Technology Project Solution Designs. This is accomplished by establishing and fostering partnerships with other IT departments including Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, and Security.

The Portfolio Architect also works closely and consults with the Business Units to understand technology needs and define solutions that meet business, technical, and financial requirements.
