Job Description:	Database Developer / C++ Programmer Rapidly growing 32-person New York City hedge fund seeks exceptional database developer / C++ programmer to develop a scalable and fast options database with historical and intra-day data to support our Research team and help design solutions for its trading floor. Unlike most development roles, this job involves direct front-line impact on the profitability of the business. Should be able to solve challenging coding problems quickly and accurately, thrive in a hard-working, fast-paced environment surrounded by smart people, and be fluent in RDBMS / ODBMS, C++ and STL. Our organization is flat and non-hierarchical, and top management is fluent with software and IT issues - a great candidate will have tremendous impact, and the whole firm will be aware of it. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering or similar area of study. At least 5 years of experience in large-scale databases (Microsoft Sql Server or Cache more preferable). This includes data modeling, data warehousing, data administration, database tuning and optimizations. At least 3 years of experience in C++ programming, debugging and object oriented design. Desirable skills: - InterSystems Cache database, ObjectScript - Experience with the network programming. - Practical experience with a hedge fund or a financial institution is a plus.
