They are seeking a seasoned UNIX and Network Administrator to help support and grow their information technology infrastructure. The successful candidate will design and implement IT solutions to meet the business needs of their ongoing Research and Development as well as those of their rapidly growing electronic trading operations.
Requirements
* Minimum 7 Years Experience
* Very self-directed and potentially able to direct others, though
we are seeking to fill an individual contributor role at present
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong ability to remain focused on business requirements while
implementing technical solutions
* Excellent understanding of UNIX Systems Administration
* Excellent understanding TCP/IP Network Administration
* Good understanding of network services such as DNS, LDAP, SAMBA,
HTTP, SSH, IPSEC
* Good understanding of data protection methodology and
implementation options, in both onsite and offsite replication
scenarios
* Strong shell/perl scripting skills
* Strong diagnostic skills
* Proven history of quickly picking up new skills
* Ability to clearly document configurations and processes in a
manner that others can maintain them
* Excellent judgment in selecting appropriately scaled solutions for the problem at hand
* Able to perform light Windows administration in support of a small workgroup
Desired Skills
* Familiarity with Cisco IOS in Switch, Router, and Firewall
configuration
* Understanding of multi-terabyte storage management strategies
* Familiarity with software build/release processes, ideally Java/Ant
* Familiarity with iSCSI and Fiber Channel implementations
* Has procured hardware and telecommunications services
* Able to evaluate data center offerings for production service
deployments
