Job Description:	We are seeking a Technology Manager in Downtown Manhattan who will manage a small sized group of information technology professionals. This includes all aspects of career development, performance objectives and performance reviews. You must maintain sufficient technical expertise to effectively manage the IT professionals for which s/he is responsible. You will influence the success of projects within his/her domain by providing needed resources and/or recommending alternatives. You will oversee key strategic projects and/or projects that cross areas of responsibility. Cultivate the client relationship by developing an in-depth understanding of their needs and ensuring that the group's efforts are directed towards meeting the objectives of the client. You may be responsible for managing the project plans and ensuring the successful delivery of end state products. Specific Job Functions: * Lead Technology and Business process improvement initiatives. * Develop, promote and support the use of standards and best practices. * Identify opportunities to improve Customer Satisfaction through innovative process solutions. * Propose new project initiatives. * Provide strategic day-to-day support and subject matter expertise for technology related initiatives. * Assist in managing and resolution of production related issues. * Possess expertise on the subject matter for which their group is responsible. * Must be comfortable interacting with team members, Senior IT Management, and Senior Business Management and skilled in delegation. * Must be adept at building and motivating technical teams and possess ability to build strategic relationships and influence people at all levels of the organization. * Must be able to track multiple projects simultaneously. Business Skills:  * Required 5 year minimum experience * Cobol, CICS and VSAM * DB2 * Thorough knowledge of SDLC(Software Development Life Cycle) * Team Management   Unit Investment Trust or Mutual Fund related work experience. Preferred Knowledge and Experience: * Microsoft's .NET platform, SQL Reporting Services, and SQL Server. * JavaScript * VB script Education/Licenses/Certifications:  B.S. or B.A. or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree or certification beneficial
