The Manager of Global Occupational Health Services is an exciting new position reporting to the Global Medical Director. Designed to create consistent high quality medical care for employees throughout the U.S. and the World, this leader will work with third party care providers (clinics) and Worker's Compensation TPAs to oversee the quality of acute clinical care, case management, pre-placement, medical surveillance and fitness for duty medical evaluations. Developing, implementing, and continually improving service standards and protocols that align with onsite clinics is a primary objective of this role. The Occupational Health Services Manager will also:
Ensure that employees receive prompt and appropriate clinical evaluation, treatment and medical determinations regarding their ability to return to work with our without restrictions.
In conjunction with EH&S and contracted medical providers, identify and mitigate potential workplace hazards associated with chemicals, noise, and ergonomics.
Lead the national worker's compensation program. Determine and implement strategies to improve performance and measure success through review of claim strategy and all associated processes (reporting, vendor management, subrogation, investigations and vocational retraining).
Track metrics to identify and prioritize EH&S prevention strategies to reduce incidence, severity and cost of new claims. Ensure compliance with OSHA, FAA, DOT, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, state health regulations and P&W and UTC procedures.
This individual will work collaboratively with the Manager of Clinical Operations and the Wellness Manager.
Requirements
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing plus Master's degree in related health field (e.g., occupational and environmental health or public health). A Masters of Science in Nursing is preferred.
Connecticut R.N. license required. Certification in occupational health nursing (COHN-S) and/or Case Management (CCM) preferred.
Five or more years experience in occupational health nursing, ideally with corporate level experience. Knowledge of industrial hygiene, safety, ergonomics, toxicology, and epidemiology. Strong clinical background and knowledge of clinical treatment protocols.
Program development, leadership, analytical thinking and management skills needed.
Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience and knowledge of workers' compensation, case management, regulatory compliance, clinical standards of care, practice guidelines (e.g. AAOHN, ACOEM, etc.), occupational health regulations (e.g., OSHA, ADA, HIPAA, FMLA, TSCA, FAA, etc.) and standards
Availability to travel approx. 20% primarily in the U.S. with occasional international travel
