Field Application Engineers use consultative selling techniques to effectively promote the value proposition offered by products to the electrical construction industry where approximately $400 Billion is spent annually. Typically targeted construction projects range from $10 to $400 Million. Each assigned territory represents approximately $5 to $25 Million in sales. Targeted segments include, in order of priority: multi-family residential, commercial, institutional and industrial.

Principle Job
• Successfully commercializes projects for each of assigned Manufacturer Representatives.
• Identifies and recommends product/process enhancements that provide significant improvement.
• Identifies and recommends sales tools to enhance product sales.
• Builds effective relationships with key decision makers (e.g. consultants, contractors, inspectors and end users) in order to become a recognized solution provider for products.
• Communicates with people from the apprentice level at job site up to the senior executive level in small groups or in large conference settings.
• Makes presentations that are technically correct while providing the energy and enthusiasm necessary to leave a positive impression with the engineers, contractors and end users.
• Provides technical expertise and support to sales force and customers, by presenting technical training, acting as the technical resource for engineers and contractors, and providing design assistance where needed.
• Keeps abreast of code and standards changes, new tools, and new information concerning products and services.
• Continually supports electrical inspectors on both a national and regional basis.
• Works with different bodies of government to persuade them to remove any restrictions that prevent the use of products.

Job Requirements:
• Engineering or equivalent degree, plus five to ten years of experience in the electrical industry (e.g. project design, installation, management, sales and marketing).
• Seasoned self-starters with ability to manage the sales process and facilitate the commercialization process in his/her territory.
• Tenacity to follow a project through to its completion.
• High level of technical knowledge about products, their applications, and their installations in order to provide proper technical support.
• High level of selling skills to properly promote the value proposition of products to the contractors and the engineering community.
• Computer skills with a full knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Travel: 50% or more
