The AIX System Administrator will complete the installation and configuration of UNIX solutions (predominantly AIX) per the design, applying established standards. They will participate in project teams, provide status, and honor deadlines. They will document solution and facilitate turnover to offshore production support teams. They will develop subject matter expertise in key technology areas affecting deployment of UNIX infrastructure (monitoring, security, console access, patch management, OS image production and maintenance and associated technologies). They will comply with established ITIL best-practices for change, incident, request and problem management procedures. They will provide production support for UNIX solutions, including participating in a weekly on call rotation. They will actively contribute to process improvement, standards setting and team knowledge-sharing initiatives.
*AIX system administration of IBM p Series servers (at least 2 years)
*AIX (5.3) configuration of EMC SAN attached storage, including HBA
installation, configuration, maintenance.
*Veritas volume management
*Installation of OS using NIM
*Experience in other UNIX environments, preferably Solaris or Linux
*Solid communication and customer facing skills
