• Implement data models and database designs
• Install, upgrade and configure database software and utilities
• Select appropriate database backup and recovery software
• Monitor database performance and make system tuning adjustments as required
• Monitor database capacity requirements and expand as needed
• Provide ongoing consultation to the applications groups on database related issues
• Develop and administer database security and disaster recovery plans
• Develop administrative tools in support of responsibilities listed above
Qualifications
• Expert knowledge of MS SQL Server 2000/2005 database administration and management techniques
• Excellent knowledge of SQL
• Excellent database tuning skills
• Good knowledge of the Windows 2003 platform
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Team player
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent is required
