Subsystem Chassis Lead Role: This is a Subsystem Chassis Lead and the candidate should have Systems Engineering experience. The candidate will support requirements allocation from Subsystem functional element level to component (Board Level) and executable level (FPGA and Firmware - Embedded SW). The engineer must understand the system level requirements and flow down to lower level assemblies what their requirements are. Thus, familiarity with small system chassis design, printed circuit board design, FPGA design, and FW design is highly desirable. Familiarity with Ops Con (Concept of Operations, sequence and state diagrams), DOORS (requirements management application), and ABD (Architecture Based Design, requirements definition and flow down) is desired. Assist with development and validation of the system requirement and lead the conduct of the Chassis First Article Test Plan and requirement sell off to the customer. Must have experience with Project Planning and Earned Value Management and resource planning. Small systems experience is desired because the Subsystems Chassis can be thought of as a small system (processor, power system, card cage/mechanicals) and part of a larger system. The candidate will also assist the Test Director with test procedure development and test plan execution of their subsystem in a system environment. This position may require occasional �off-shift� support.
Board Lead Role:
The candidate will support requirements allocation from component (Board Level) to executable level (FPGA and Firmware - Embedded SW).
Leadership over the detailed design of the Printed Wiring Board and Circuit Card Assembly. Lead team through board level integration planning of FPGA and FW development, and execute the integration plan.
The candidate will develop functional and acceptance test procedures for their board.
Assist with development and validation of the allocated board requirements and lead the conduct of the First Article Test Plan and requirement sell off to the customer.
Previous experience leading a technically complex board development effort from start to finish. 5 years
Previous experience leading small teams of 3-5 engineers (Design, FPGA, FW, Mechanical, and Mfg, etc)
Infrequent travel for reviews required.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Typical Minimums Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 14 years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an expert, authority in discipline.
Required skills Systems Engineering - knowledge of Architecture Based Design methods/ DODAF� 2 years.
Previous experience leading a technically complex hardware development effort from start to finish. 5 years. Any combination of FPGA, Embedded FW or Board Design experience � 5 years. DOORS requirement management tool experience - 1 year. General digital design skills - 10 years experience minimum. High speed digital design. 1-10 Gigabit; Ethernet protocol. Design boards using FPGAs especially Xilinx Virtex 2, 4, and 5. Multi-layers, up to 20.
Experience dealing with signal integrity designs.
Desired skills Familiarity with ClearCase and Configuration Management practices.
Familiarity with Advanced Telecommunications Computer Architecture (ATCA).
