This program manager will lead the effort across IT and the business to deliver the estimated business value of an approved program in this case Universal MML Program. This position will interact directly with project sponsors to communicate status, mitigate risks and address all scope, timing, cost and performance changes. The program manager will also coordinate all business process changes with the technology implementation to achieve the expected business value.
Required Skills/ Experience:
· Experience leading large, enterprise programs across IT/business boundaries
· Experience developing and managing holistic project plans and costs
· Experience with best practice IT governance processes and controls
· Experience with PPM and collaboration tools to disseminate information
· Experience following best practice portfolio management and project management processes
· Strong leader, process driven, business value delivery oriented
· Ability to lead a matrixed delivery team across both business and IT boundaries
· Excellent written communication skills
· Outstanding oral communication skills, comfortable presenting to large groups and executives
· Extremely organized, high energy
Experience:
· BS in Computer Science required
· 10+ years in an program leadership position with business program delivery responsibility
· 5+ years responsible for implementing project standards, measures, processes and controls
Desired, but not required Skills/ Experience:
· Background in internet program delivery
· PMP certification
· Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills
· Emphasis on continuous process improvement
Daily Responsibilities:
· Ensure program sponsors and stakeholders are kept appraised of project status
· Assign program roles & responsibilities to project team
· Develop holistic project plan with assistance from technology delivery project managers
· Develop holistic project costs to be included in portfolio investment decision
· Develop risk assessment and mitigation plans for project
· Manage risks by implementing contingency plans
· Provide project change management to control scope, timing, cost and performance
· Coordinate with business leaders to implement necessary process changes to support implementation
· Request and confirm resources required for successful program delivery
· Ensure project teams follow approved IT governance and project management processes
· Lead post-program lessons learned sessions to improve process and performance
· Prepare final project report to compare scope, timing and cost to original baselines
· Perform program closeout tasks one final program report has been signed off by sponsors
