Required Experience:
-          MUST HAVE prior experience as Software Director in an early stage startup. NO EXCEPTIONS
-          10-15 years of software development experience building and scaling web applications
-          Good command of most of the following or equivalent technologies Node.js (tracking), Java (back-end), DynamoDB and PostgreSQL (database), Python / Django / Tastypie (back-end), jQuery / Knockout.js / Bower (Front- end), all based on Git for version control
-          Demonstrated experience in leading the architecture, design, development, testing, delivery of highly available, large scale, high performance web applications.
-          Strong knowledge, UML modeling, ORM, Messaging Queue etc...
-          Track record of managing a motivated, efficient, effective offshore engineering team (India, Eastern Europe or South America)
-          Experience with cloud infrastructure deployment such as AWS
-          Experience in the development and delivery of products in a "SaaS" model
-          Experience with product life-cycle process from conception through development into production
-          Excellent written and verbal skills
-          BS/MS in CS, EE (preferred) or other technical discipline.
 
Responsibilities:
-          Provide engineering/technical leadership. A key element for this position will be developing our tracking application, infrastructure, decision engine and communication services with third-party suppliers (Customer Service, SMS, Push notifications, CRM, etc.) and our platform.
-          Set standards and guidelines for the development of the platform; creating a harmonic process between the product, its performance (measured against initially set standards), and innovation (drive improvements when and where needed).
-          Manage and motivate the engineering team in a hands-on capacity.
-          You must define, develop and participate in code.
-          Recruit and evaluate team members as needed.
-          Use external resources as needed to integrate high-quality web analytics features and develop the customer experience management solution.
-          Set the technical direction for the team, work with the CEO to drive the evolution of the system’s architecture and make appropriate technology decisions.
-          Responsible for defining and improving continuous integration & integration testing.
-          Manage the full development life cycle: develop project and resource plans/schedules; perform day-to-day project management to meet applicable timetables; assist team in accomplishing all tasks; and demonstrate ownership and accountability for the entire product delivery process.
-          Plan projects and timelines in detail and provide visibility into detailed tracking of project status, provide analysis of impacts of scope changes/resource reallocation towards release timelines.
-          In collaboration with the CEO, represent the technical team & initiatives during board & investor meetings, as well as events related to our industry.
