Requirements, Skills & Education:

·         Strong background in Java based Web development (Java Spring Web MVC, WS, DAO), Java Servlet, JSP, JSTL

·         Strong background in Javascript, CSS, HTML, AJAX, jQuery, jQgrid library, XML, Json

·         Experience in building SOAP and REST based web services client using Spring WS and Apache Axis

·         Strong database design and administration skills specifically MySQL

·         Good understanding of data binding libraries like JAXB, XMLBeans, Jackson.

·         Strong Knowledge of scripting languages(e.g. Groovy, Perl, SQL)

·         Linux Systems knowledge (performance tuning, basic networking, file systems)

·         Insight into data structures (basic algorithm awareness, basic OOPs design principles)

·         Knowledge of Bigdata/Hadoop tools (HDFS, HBase, Hive, PIG, Flume, Storm, ElasticSearch)

·         Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC)

·         Some background in network performance, metrics/KPI analysis, measurement, reporting, troubleshooting, validation preferred

·         Prior experience working with OSS/BSS/middleware systems preferred

·         Prior experience working with Oracle, Vertica, Teradata, Ab Initio etc. is a plus

·         Skill and expertise to effectively communicate at wide range of levels (from executive management to Business Analysts to Technical Resources)

·         Working knowledge of VoIP technology/infrastructure/protocols/terminology needed to provide VoIP services e.g. SIP, Jitter, Packet-loss, SMS, RTP, etc.

 

 

Additional Skills (would like to have but not required)

·         Knowledge of Apache Tomcat, Jboss is a plus

·         Familiarity with enterprise BI tools such as MicroStrategy, Cognos, Tableau, etc.

·         Understanding of network architecture and communications protocols e.g. Ethernet, TCP/IP, SONET

·         BS in Computer Science, or related field. MS degree a plus

·         At least 8 years of related experience in the telecom domain (3-5 years of experience with telecom carriers preferred; 5-7 years of software engineering/development preferred)
