FUNCTIONAL TITLE: Windows Systems Administrator
SALARY: $60-70K

LOCATION: NYC

HOURS: Mon - Fri 11AM-7PM

POSITION OVERVIEW/MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
Duties include:
* Combination of on-site and 24x7 on-call technical support
* Server provisioning activities
* Create and update support documentation
* Remedy problem resolution, management and escalation
* Service request fulfillment, management and escalation
* Server inventory management
o Update and audit server inventory
o Follow up on service requests
o Update and follow up on purchase order status
* Daily system checkout review and problem assignment
o Server configuration management reports
o Backup coverage reports
o Server monitoring reports

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS & WORK EXPERIENCE

Degree or currently attending college/technical school in a computer
technology field. The candidate should be familiar with the day-today
operational issues surrounding various business computer technologies.
Candidate should be familiar with operational disciplines such as
project management, problem management, change management,
network/server monitoring, systems monitoring, server backups/restores,
and multi-platform integration/communication. Candidates must have at
least 2+ years experience with the following technologies:

Hardware: Compaq Intel Hardware, IBM Netfinity server hardware, Hewlett
Packard Intel server hardware, various raid disk subsystems
manuyfactured by Compaq, IBM, and Hewlett Packard Operating System:
Microsoft Windows 2000 and 2003 Servers
Other: Microsoft office suite, Veritas Netbackup, Veritas Backup Exec,
Perl, BMC Patrol, Legatto Networker, Remedy incident management system,
one or more system monitoring products such as Netcool or BMC Patrol

Desired skills include:
Hardware: Digital Alpha, EMC Symmetric, EMC Connectrix, SUN
microsystems Operating Systems: Digital UNIX, Sun Solaris and Red Hat
Linux
Other: Lotus Notes, Sybase, Oracle, SAMBA, PC_NFS,
scripting/programming skills
