This position supports Manufacturing Operations by leading a team to perform a wide range of laboratory analyses including Gas Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography, and Atomic Absorption according to technical methods. This position will be responsible for ensuring data integrity through use of good lab practice, data analysis, documentation, and interpretation of results. This position also provides leadership in the development and transfer of new methods. Identifies and pursues continuous improvement opportunities on behalf of Manufacturing Quality.
Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or related field.
•Minimum 2 years experience in lab environment including utilization of instruments
•Experience training others
•HPLC, GC, AA, Auto-titration experience
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
•Strong chemistry, math, and communication skills
•Strong understanding of good laboratory practice and the use of quality control limits and test process control
•Strong understanding of Gas Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography, and Atomic Absorption methodology including method development and troubleshooting
•Ability to understand technical processes in order to recognize and systematically solve problems
•Able to work independently and manage a wide range of projects and priorities
•Able to identify and lead continuous improvement projects
•Good project management and leadership skills
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
•Lead the staff and operations in the Manufacturing Quality Technical Services Analytical Chemistry Services Laboratory
•Ensure laboratory data integrity through use of good lab practice, data analysis, documentation, and interpretation of results
•Ensure excellent customer service by understanding customer needs and delivering data in a meaningful format
•Perform laboratory analyses including Gas Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography, and Atomic Absorption
•Ensure calibration and maintenance of all plant chemistry lab equipment
•Identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities on behalf of Manufacturing Quality
•Support the Plant Sensory Program through sample analysis and data management
•Support the Bradenton Quality Pillar
•Lead the Manufacturing Quality Safety Program
•Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
