SQL DataBase Administrator NYC $80000 - $100000 + bonus


SQL Database Administrator / Production Support Specialists

The successful candidate must be a self-starter, self-efficient, take-ownership type of person with the analytical skills and knowledge to assist and support a fast-paced asset management operations environment.

 

Candidate’s primary focus will be MS SQL Server database administration reporting the senior DBA, though SQL Server development and report scripting will also be required. This position also interacts with other developers, technical personnel, project managers, business analysts and technical support staff, and third party vendors. Key deliverables for this position are smooth and efficient production operations, completing development tasks on time which meet or exceed quality expectations.

 

Requirements: 

  • Mid Level SQL Server DBA/Developer
  • 3-5 years of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Experience
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to multi-task, and be results-oriented.
  • Develop windows and database scripts/utilities/apps to facilitate proactive monitoring and other business/technology processes/functions
  • Develop Queries, T-SQL Scripts.
  • Analyze software/issues to identify bugs and/or system modifications needed
  • Interface with users, managers, vendors, IS and Product Development to resolve problems
  • Analyze problem, document, and communicate resolution, close and follow-up on trouble tickets and escalate problems to appropriate teams, when necessary
  • Takes ownership of problems and provide/coordinate resolutions as appropriate
  • Perform specialty production processing
  • Primary contact for ad-hoc database reports and data analysis.
  • Strong hands on expertise performing administration functions, such as:
    • Installations and configurations
    • Automating tasks
    • Backups and Restores
    • Creating Tables, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Indexes, Views, Functions, etc.
    • DTS/SSIS
    • Updates
    • Troubleshooting
    • Security
    • Tuning
  • Will participate in 7 x 24 on-call support
  • Programming support
  • Understand the Software Development Lifecycle and product deliverable process
  • Plan, implement and document disaster recovery and standard recovery processes
  • Working knowledge of IIS

 

Business Requirements:

  • Financial knowledge, asset management experience.
  • OMS (trading) and GL (accounting) systems knowledge.

  • Replication Experience in 2000/2005


Education:

B.S. Computer Science, Information System, Mathematics, or IT related field
