Job Description:	RAF #012310 -Sr.  UNIX Administrator/D25 -  NJDC - Participate in the development of open systems architecture and strategy across a very large multi-vendor platform environment. Vendor technology includes the latest hardware and software Solution platforms from HP, IBM, Red Hat, Novell, et cetera.  Responsible for installing and managing Linux (RedHat, SUSE, etc) and HP-UX systems.  Implement High Availability solutions for Linux and HP-UX systems. Develop system recovery solutions for Linux and HP-UX Systems. Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while performing other job responsibilities.  Provide Hospital Administration, department heads, key department members and Information Systems team members with in-house consulting services for application design, platform selection and hardware and software implementation.  Interface with vendors to resolve complex technical hardware and software issues.  We require:  a minimum of 10 to 12 years prior work experience in data processing.  Need to have an in-depth, detailed knowledge of Linux and HP-UX operating systems internals and systems administration in a medium-to-large UNIX or HP-UX environment; strong documentation skills; hands-on experience and knowledge of current UNIX server architecture, Storage Technologies, performance tuning, Perl and Korn/Bourne shell scripting. Familiarity with databases (Sybase, Oracle, Cache, MYSQL), web technologies, CVS, LDAP, reverse proxy architectures and security practices, is desirable. Good electrical safety skills working within a data center are also required. Hours: 9:00AM-5:00PM, Monday-Friday.  Must be able to get to Data Center, located in Lyndhurst, NJ during off-hours and be on call when not on scheduled absence.  Frequent off-hours and weekend work due to the 24x7 nature of the NJDC service-level requirements.  Periodic attendance of meetings  New York City locations is required.
