Trade Settlement Professional—Los Angeles, CA

 

Trade Settlement is responsible for the successful closing of all loans primary and secondary within the fund. They are also responsible to confirm, report to custodian and settle all trades for publicly traded fixed income securities. 

 

 

Position Responsibilities:

·         Work closely with external resources, legal counsel, counterparties, and agents for successful completion of documentation for closing of loans

·         Liaise between portfolio managers, traders and trustees for all portfolio-specific activity and issues, ensuring cross-communication of critical information between firm departments

·         Discover, research and resolve transactional and valuation discrepancies

·         Resolve trade settlement issues

·         Coordinate loan funding payments funding and withdrawals and special requests

·         Ensure maintenance of administrative records in account/fund files

·         Work with managers, custodians and prime brokers to set up new accounts

·         Participate in special projects such as technology advancements

Experience and Skills Required:

·         BS or BA in Finance or related discipline

·         Minimum two years of investment management operations experience

·         Strong fixed-income product knowledge, particularly bank loans, CLO’s, CDO’s variable rates securities

·         Hedge fund or private equity experience is a plus

 

Computer Skills:

·         Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel – knowledge of formulae a must (e.g.

·         “vlookup”)

·         Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft Access or other databases a plus

·         Basic knowledge of Bloomberg

·         Knowledge of Thomson’s Portia system is a plus
