A dynamic New York based company is searching for a Oracle Database Administrator. We are a rapidly growing electronic marketplace for large block institutional equities trading. If you are motivated, independent and looking for a highly demanding environment where you will be challenged by your work and recognized for your achievements, this is where you want to be. 

Requirements: 

- 3+ years of Oracle Production DBA experience 

- 1 year on Linux in a production environment 

- Oracle 10g RAC experience in production, preferably in a multi-node environment 

- Strong experience using RMAN for backup and recovery 

- Oracle 10g experience including RAC (including Interconnects), Grid technologies, Data Guard and Data Streams 

- Very strong with SQL Tuning (especially within RAC), SQL traces, SQLLDR, Stats pack analysis, TKPROF. 

- OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) for monitoring and performance tuning 

- Expert in Performance Tuning and Monitoring 

- Able to write UNIX shell scripts 

Preferred/Plus to have: 

- Experience writing/modifying Perl scripts 

- Extensive SQL and PL/SQL experience 

- Experience with single database instances > 100 gig 

- Experience in high volume transaction environments (1+ million updates or transactions/day) 

- Replication experience in high volume/high availability environments using either Quest Shareplex or Oracle*s Replication tool 

- Partitioning (Oracle Partitioning or Quest Partition Magic) 

- Data warehousing experience 

- Experience in creating Oracle materialized views and the use of the Oracle Summary Advisor 

- Understanding of all Oracle data warehousing features such as partitioning, dimensions, local indexes etc. 

- Experience with implementing Oracle security features such as encryption and VPD- virtual private database is a plus. 

- Experience administering/maintaining/developing in PostgreSQL 7.x or 8.x. 

- BS/MS in CS or related field
