Demonstrated ability to handle cross-group short term and long term projects, seeing them to completion

Demonstrated ability of successful implementation and support of highly scalable and highly available systems in an n-tier environment that may involve a global focus

Demonstrated ability to carry out a client setup, including setting up the initial workflow, as well as carrying out technical details

Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail and ability to follow through with open issues until resolved

Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt quickly to changes

Demonstrated ability to communicate technical and production-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

 

Trace order flow through multiple equity order routing systems by running scripts, analyzing and interpreting proprietary, as well as standard, FIX, CMS and CTCI log files.

Perform trading actions on behalf of a client, such as cancel orders, correct limit price on orders/portfolios and send a status query to the exchange.

Document, share and communicate product and business knowledge with team members via knowledge base database, daily EOD process, and routine email correspondence.

Manage Recovery Outage situations, including identifying monetary exposure to the trading desk.

Provide off-hours Support during weekends and holidays on an emergency basis; some key nights and weekends may require on-site coverage

Create and run ad-hoc custom reports for trading desk and external clients.

Schedule, coordinate, implement and manage multiple software releases from Staging into Production

Communicate with multiple departments on application releases

Lead multi-group projects of varying sizes concerning new business initiatives, technological initiatives, system maintenance, and system upgrades.

Prepare training material and train new and existing employees in various Core Routing functionalities.

Participate in design of software specifications for Support Tools.

Translate software specifications between business and development groups.

Design procedures for 1st Level Support and system growth.

Proactively monitor and analyze system performance.

Proactively seek ways to optimize the systems.

Setup new inbound and outbound connections, as well as Internal connections.

Manage regular System Maintenance during weekends.

Manage routine System Contingency testing

 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Troubleshoot equity trading systems, order routing, front office, middle office, crossing and compliance application issues, determine source of problems, and identify solutions for internal and external clients, using technical and analytical expertise and knowledge of systems.

Categorize, prioritize and resolve software application issues dealing with all levels of equity trade order and routing systems.

Interface frequently with external business and technical partners, including but not limited to Exchanges, ECN’s, OMS, EMS and Network providers.

Participate in test, document, release, and provide post/pre installation support for equity trading, order routing systems and compliance applications.

Liaise regularly with the trading desk and communicate the status of outstanding requests.

Interpret client requests and takes appropriate action to produce high levels of customer satisfaction that are balanced with business needs.

Ensure service level targets are met, or escalate appropriately.

Proactively seek ways to provide a better service e.g. process improvement, both tactically and strategically, implement new process or enhancements

Provide an overall atmosphere of continuity and transparency with respect to application releases, resolution of issues and other system matters impacting our internal and external clients.

Prepare and deliver training and presentations to colleagues and other business units.

Deliver the project-based activities required without compromising daily support service delivered to business users.

Interview, train and mentor new team members

Maintain and grow client connectivity

 

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Senior Level

Principal Level

 

B.S. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science or equivalent technical discipline

5 + years experience in Second Level Trading support role

Or

M.S. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science or equivalent technical discipline

3 + years experience in Trading support role

 

B.S. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent technical discipline

7 + years experience in Second Level Trading support role

Or

M.S. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science or equivalent technical discipline

5 + years experience in Trading support role
