Reporting to the Senior Vice President and director of Corporate Communications, the Vice President, Media Relations role is responsible for helping develop and implement proactive and reactive media relations strategies that enhance and protect the reputation of the firm. This high profile position will have responsibility for working directly with the Vice President of Public Relations and leadership teams of certain geographies within the company's nine-state footprint. This position also will provide media relations support for the companies various business segments. This position works directly and consistently with key executives and other support area partners, including those from the appropriate lines of business, marketing, HR, public affairs and legal. This professional also will have the opportunity to work with Corporate Communications partners on corporate strategic issues

The VP of Media Relations provides ongoing counsel to geographic and line of business leadership on proactive and reactive media relations strategies that support stated strategic business and corporate objectives. This professional will have direct and consistent contact with key media contacts in targeted markets and will partner with Corporate Communications to ensure that relevant external messages also are shared internally as appropriate.

A bachelors degree is required along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, preferably in the areas of public relations and media relations. Experience helping develop and implement effective public relations, media relations or marketing campaigns that enhance or protect an organizations reputation is preferred.
A combination of corporate and agency PR experience along with working within the corporate communication function of large diversified corporate or public relations agency and a demonstrated track record of developing and implementing effective media relations or marketing tactics/strategies is a plus.
