N/T Administrator (System Engineer) Contract-to-Hire. Must have Geneva &/or WSO (Wall Street Office) BIZTALK a big plus. $60/hr., Strong Windows experience; fundamentals + troubleshooting (workstation OS (2000, + XP), servers (2000, 2003), AD, domains, users, policies) -- MCSE is a plus. The System Engineer (N/T Admin) is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and analyzing technical products and systems; performing engineering design evaluation; recommending alterations of development and design to improve quality of systems and/or procedures.
Position Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, implements and analyzes technical products and systems.
Performs engineering design evaluations.
Recommends alternations to development and design to improve quality and efficiency of systems.
Resolves software related problems and all technical issues involving servers and systems.
Identifies and recommends emerging technology trends and develops alternatives with respect to hardware and software architecture; conducts capacity planning studies of server hardware and software, analyzes data and develops hardware/software capacity requirements, alternatives and recommendations.
Evaluates, updates, maintains and applies patches for all servers; works in conjunction with Systems Administrators to maintain security on all servers; implements server requirements for new applications.
Trains employees in day-to-day operations and procedures.
Responsible for the execution of the software systems development function, including the design, development, troubleshooting and debugging of software programs.
Responsible for determining hardware compatibility and/or influencing hardware design.
Installs software and user utilities for modifications and upgrades of operating systems and workstation environments.
Manages hardware maintenance and repair activities.
Diagnoses and resolves hardware problems.
Installs, configures, and tests workstations with supporting hardware, software, and networking components.
Actively security controls for SOX requirements
Participate in project meetings to understand application and database requirements
Provide after hours support as required
Experience and Skills Required:
Potential candidates for this position must meet the following suggested requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or closely related field.
Four to six years of related professional information technology experience in a system engineer or equivalent role, preferably in a financial setting.
Must: Geneva &/or WSO (Wall Street Office). Application experience in BIZTALK is a plus
Strong Windows experience; fundamentals + troubleshooting (workstation OS (2000, + XP), servers (2000, 2003), AD, domains, users, policies) -- MCSE is a plus.
Strong IT background, strong networking fundamentals and troubleshooting skills are required

Solid administrative skills + excellent oral and written skills
Mechanical/Electronic ability to follow any manual instructions to replace any hardware components
