Description:    This is an outside sales position and is responsible for increasing sales and margins by calling on and building relationships with an assigned group of accounts in the Indianapolis and southern Indiana market. 
• Qualifies accounts by determining market potential and calls to solicit business 
• Increases sales and margins to existing and new customers 
• Resolves problems such as customer claims and product application 
• Identifies all buying influences and regularly visits with each account 
• Develops long-term relationships and influences buying decisions 
• Provides quotations either directly or in conjunction with Inside Sales 
• Demonstrates products to customers and makes joint calls with vendors who represent selected lines 
• Provides feedback to branch management regarding market levels, products to stock, etc. 
• Increases account penetration in terms of products sold, etc. 
• Conducts training as required and works trade fair booths when necessary 
• Prepares a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up and adherence to goals 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 
• Track record of success in business-to-business sales 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to persuade others 
• Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office 
• Ability to clearly and effectively set goals 
• In-depth knowledge of electrical distribution and MRO products and services 

EXPERIENCE 
• Minimum of 4 years of outside sales experience in manufacturing required 
• 2+ years of industrial factory automation or electrical supply preferred 

EDUCATION 
• Bachelor''s degree required, Business or Engineering degree preferred.
