Supervisor Accounting - (US-IL-Chicago)

Ensure that the Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) build adequately provides required tax and legal entity reporting functionality.

This includes:
Proper processing of business transactions
Interface processing
Sufficient management and exception reporting
Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls and operational controls
Close co-ordination with the tax department

Develop process and tools to reconcile tax and management reporting
Propose simplification of existing processes prior to SAP deployment
Lead accounting data conversion (Essbase Taxmain), including establishing rules and protocols for data cleansing, approving the plan and timeline, and obtaining appropriate resources to cleanse data required for the mock data conversion tests
Review and develop test scripts to ensure all critical business processes and interfaces are completely tested end-to-end
Lead business participation in ST2, ST3, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) financial accounting testing, including obtaining needed business testers, assisting in testing, and prioritizing identified system defects
Develop manual business processes required to utilize SAP, including all reconciliation procedures
Review SAP developed training for completeness, accuracy and understandability, and deliver specific training courses
Review SOX documentation and operational controls for completeness and thoroughness
Work closely with SAP financial reporting implementation team to ensure co-ordination of system design, testing, and deployment activities

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance is required
5-6 years relevant work experience. Experience in tax accounting is required
MBA and CPA are strongly preferred
Ability to quickly analyze issues, prepare comprehensive analyses and provide insights for identifying / solving specific issues
Ability to highlight issues and provide clear communication to broad audience that will assist in driving change
Ability to work cross-functionally as well as across other divisions
SAP knowledge
