Job Description:	POSITION TITLE:                     Interface/Java Developer This position focuses on designing, developing, implementing and maintaining data interfaces between the company and Prime Brokers, Counterparties, Banks Clients and third party systems/ providers.  It will entail supporting both traditional month-end application and  Front to Back applications.  Working with a global team of Broker Liaisons, Data Delivery Support people and Developers, this individual will be responsible for aspects of the data interfaces for clients located around the world. ·         Implement new data interfaces, as needed, to address data requirements. ·         Collectively, this group is responsible for insuring that data interfaces are functioning correctly and that client data is flowing as expected. ·         Work with the rest of the Connectivity team to create necessary tools and systems to enhance the scalability of our data interfaces and other internal data requirements. ·         Escalation point for the Data Support Delivery Team, Level 1 Help Desk or Application Support Groups when data problems are encountered.  The developers will be expected to be available to assist these groups when bug fixes or data manipulation is necessary. ·         Work with the Broker Liaisons and Client Technical Liaisons to identify and define client issues and enhancement requests and to define the specifications, provide additional information to obtain client sign-off. ·         Ensure successful delivery and customer satisfaction as well as management of service expectations including work products, timing, and value to be delivered.  ·         Assist with design reviews for content and usability. ·         Support system testing and beta programs. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONS: This position reports to the CFS Connectivity - US Team Leader. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Technical Expectations/Professional Practices: ·         Candidates must have good technical skills. Experience building data interfaces would be highly desirable. ·         Working knowledge of UNIX environments is required.  An understanding of Windows environments is desirable. ·         Candidates must have strong SQL skills.  Experience with Sybase, Oracle and/ or SQL server, is required. ·         A strong working knowledge of Java is required.  Knowledge of XML, XSLT, Perl Object Oriented development techniques ASP and .NET would all be highly desirable. ·         Candidates must be able to focus on solving business issues using technology as the tool.  Their technology skills are important, but their ability to address business issues is key. ·         Candidates must have solid problem solving skills.  They will be required to research problems reported by their user community to determine if an actual problem exists or additional training is required.  When actual problems exist, they need to, as appropriate, recommend workarounds until an actual resolution can be implemented. ·         Candidates must have knowledge of the financial services industry, its products and practices, and a strong interest in further development and learning. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: ·         A minimum of 3 year experience in a corporate environment.  Experience in the financial services industry or as a consultant to the financial services industry or hedge fund experience ·         Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills. ·         Some US and global travel may be required.
