Manager -International Audit (Internal Audit Department)
Position Description
General / background:
The Manager of International audit is a new role created in the corporate internal audit department to address a lack of audit coverage of international subsidiaries. the manager will be responsible for audit activities for all international locations which includes australia, canada, central europe (austria, germany, switzerland), southern europe (france, portugal, spain), and the united kingdom. The manager will be responsible for all phases of audit work for the previously mentioned locations including planning/risk assessment, fieldwork and report writing.
reporting:
This position reports to the director of international audit, based in the gssc in
responsibilities:
independently performs all phases of audit work including planning/risk assessment, fieldwork and reporting.
ability to understand and clearly document business processes in order to develop audit objectives
ability to determine and clearly document operational / financial risks
ability to determine and clearly document internal
ability to identify control gaps
obtains facts and other concrete evidence to support conclusions
clearly and thoroughly documents all audit work and conclusions in a well organized set of work papers
writes clear and concise audit reports, including observations, recommendations and management responses
ensures audit recommendations are tracked and implemented in a timely manner
heavily focuses on the development of senior auditors
keeps local management informed of audit status
maintains frequent communication with the director of international audit
stays well informed of company objectives, initiatives, problems, etc. and adjusts the audit plan accordingly
Develops and maintains a network of working relationships with all levels of company management, and is committed to continually satisfying internal audit's customers.
maintains an understanding of the retail industry, including business trends, corporate governance issues, etc.
requires a minimum of 50% travel
educational/technical requirements:
§ Undergraduate or master's degree in finance / accounting or other appropriate major.
§ professional certification (CPA) is strongly recommended
§ Minimum of five (5) years of experience in auditing and staff management
§ working knowledge of coso and sarbanes-oxley 404
§ Excellent written, verbal and inter-personal skills
§ fluency in spanish, german or japanese a plus
§ retail, oracle, hyperion, lease accounting experience all a plus
