When I usually think non-profit, I think of a poorly funded organization with old technology. This one has support from many corporate titans and political leaders from both sides of the aisle.

20+ years experience in IT and at least 7-10 years as a Sr. Manager in Application Development out of Industry, not out of non-profit
Experienced Manager, Mentor, Team Builder, Great People Skills
· Current Technology: Java J2EE, Linux, Windows, Postgres, WebSphere, Tomcat, Ajax (new), Apache & some .Net …

This individual will have the unique opportunity to evaluate the current development environment, assess what they have and plan what they need to do to get to the next level and beyond. This VP will be fully empowered to hire the appropriate additional staff for this area, and well as offer any suggested training to current staff. The VP will select the SDLC methodologies, selection of tools, definition of protocols….will have the complete support of Senior Management in this endeavor.

Oversee the management of the day-to-day Application Support area as well, which oversees development need for current production applications. Oversees the management of multiple development teams, Mentors development manager and staff. Keeps abreast of new technologies which could be useful within the growing environment, and makes appropriate choices for R&D.

Manages business partner expectations regarding development work in progress. Plans this work effectively – budget, resources, space, equipment, etc.

Coordinates with peers and others throughout the organization to ensure the most appropriate applications and ensures functionality is always being deployed within the environment.

Oversees the management of developers, information architects, quality assurance analysts, technical project managers, database administrators/programmers, systems architects….
