Reporting to both Director of PMO and Director of Information Technology, the Data Analyst position is established to provide a liaison between business users and report developers. Data Analyst will amass complete knowledge of all systems’ data architecture and how it is utilized to support business processes and reporting functionality; this person should be able to independently understand any reporting requirements and translate them into detailed development instructions. Data Analyst will be engaged in the entire reports delivery process from requirements gathering to production rollout.

Primary Responsibilities
• Communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers and stakeholders to analyze information and business needs and produce reporting requirements and deliver design documentation to development teams.
• Develop and test reports, scripts, or other software necessary for information delivery.
• Analyze data and ensure data integrity, security, timeliness, and accuracy.
• Review and respond to business requests for data and data usage. Research and identify data sources.
• Define data-integration requirements. Document and maintain metadata.
• Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
• Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade off between usability and performance needs.


Knowledge and Skills Required
• Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or engineering.
• Five or more years of hands-on experience working as a database developer. In addition, a minimum of three years of experience in data analysis and report writing.
• Expert knowledge of T-SQL language. Knowledge and experience with PL/SQL is a big plus.
• Experience writing reports using reporting tools (MS Reporting Services and Flex Reporting are highly desirable).
• Familiarity with software development tools and frameworks such as .Net, Flex, Java.
• Experience and proficiency with data design, analysis and architecture.
• Comprehensive knowledge of DBMS in highly distributed, multi-tiered and client/server environments.
• Proficient in the use of ER design tools. Knowledge of logical and physical data modeling techniques.
• Strong knowledge of Business Intelligence concepts and tools.
• Demonstrated data modeling experience, including strong relational and dimensional data model design skills, applying enterprise data architecture considerations when designing and developing solutions for individual projects.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills, particularly as they relate to problem resolution support for
DBMS related issues including security, performance, implementation, recovery, and connectivity.
• Demonstrated success performing analysis of large, complex, cross-functional projects.
• Ability to concurrently handle multiple projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.


Knowledge and Skills Preferred
• Experience in development and implementation of mobile communications and content delivery solutions is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with electronic processing of prepaid products and services as well as telecom industry experience is desired.
