lead network architect for a full time positions on staff. The position requires 80% travel.

Part of your time would be billable (about 30-40%); the rest is client facing and directing staff. The position can be based anywhere in the Northeastern US.

YOU MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE MANAGING OFFSHORE RESOURCES.

The practice is NOT focused on global network architecture roles but ones that work with regional offices or midsized businesses, evaluating their needs, architecting solutions and helping deliver them.

This is a synopsis of what they are looking for and what you will be doing:

Lead a team defining architecture design, strategy development, implementation, and administration of a variety of remote access services. Evaluate multiple vendor data products through documented test plans, select vendor, and develop engineering specifications and guidelines for these data products. Work with sales team to develop and enhance networking and security products and services through the product implementation process

Interface with high profile customers and have excellent documentation skills.

Proficient with WAN, LAN & WLAN technologies to include components: ACL, firewalls, switched Ethernet, ATM, SONET, routing protocols, fiber channel, and Storage Area Networks. Ability to define, design, and manage large scale project implementation and migrations where the network solution will fit schedule, performance, budget and risk constraints. Ability to support and translate system requirements into a design for an existing complex computer system and multi-protocol network. This will include surveying new technologies and service price trends to recommend changes to the network architecture. Able to size new network implementations, upgrades and work independent or part of a large IT team. Should have a solid understanding of network security including firewalls, VPNS and authentication products

Requirements:
Minimum of 4 years experience in the role of Network Architect.
•Minimum of 10 years experience with administration, implementation and troubleshooting of IP routers, layer 2 and layer 3 switches and firewalls. Cisco and Juniper experience is a requirement, Nortel experience a plus.
•In-depth knowledge and working experience with IPSec VPN and SSL VPN technologies, solutions and products;
•Extensive experience with design, implementation and troubleshooting of IP network routing policy.
•Extensive experience with design, implementation and troubleshooting of IP network
•Experience with WAN networking technologies; including Frame Relay and MPLS.
•Experience in the definition and administration of IP network usage and security policies.
•5 years of hands on Networking experience, with heavy Cisco and Juniper product exposure
•Experience with the design of large Enterprise networks
•Skilled in designing, implementing and managing multi-site network solutions
