Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Chemical engineering with 6+ years of experience OR a Master’s degree in Electrical or Chemical engineering with 0-4+ years of experience or a Ph.D. in Electrical or Chemical engineering with 0-2+ years of experience
• Experience in chemical, industrial or pharmaceutical facilities in control systems design and engineering or equivalent experience
• Knowledge in Safety Integrated Systems (SIS), Safety Integrity Level (SIL), Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS), Safety Lifecycle Reviews (SLC) and Basic Process Control Systems (BPCS)
• Familiarity with PHA (Process Hazard Analysis) methodology and Functional Safety
• Knowledge of process control strategies and systems automation validation, quality assurance and industrial control networks
• Knowledge of relevant national and international standards in the area of process control and instrumentation
• Knowledge of the engineering and maintenance practices for process control systems including analog and digital controls, distributed and computer controlled systems and safety programmable logic controllers (SPLCs)
• Working knowledge of DCS and SPLC configuration
• Knowledge of project control skills including project planning, scheduling, cost control
• Demonstrated experience in providing field support and participating in check out, commissioning and start-up of process control installations
• Systematic approach to problem definition and solution development
• Ability to work as a member of a cross-functional team and to participate in multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to deal with people at different levels of management, engineering and design and with internal customers (e.g. engineering, maintenance, operations) and suppliers of PCT material and services
• Good verbal and written skills in order to communication with and obtain cooperation from team members involved with engineering, design, check out, commissioning and start-up. Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive technical and scope documents required for project execution
• Willingness and ability to travel 20-40% of the time when job assignment dictates
• Willingness and ability to work additional hours when job assignments dictates
• Willing to pursue advanced education (i.e. Master’s Degree) and other certifications and training when job assignment dictates
Plusses
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Chemical engineering with 8+ years of experience OR a Master’s degree in Electrical or Chemical engineering with 2-6+ years of experience or a Ph.D. in Electrical or Chemical engineering with 0-4+ years of experience.
