Analytical Spectroscopists of varying experience to work closely with our Medical Database Lab (MDL) to develop the medication database and classification algorithms used in the pharmaceutical analysis system. The successful spectroscopist will work very closely with the engineering team to continue to define our product development roadmaps. Incumbent will be responsible for developing the acquisition and quality control protocols used in the development of the database, as well as assist in the technical side of proposal development and quotes for non-standard products. They will also provide engineering the required product performance and specifications needed to meet customer expectations, provide technical insight on our expansion capabilities into new markets, and work with marketing in development of collateral material and business presentations, and provide application notes, white papers, publications, and trade show support.
The ideal candidates should have the following qualifications
MS or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or other relevant technical discipline area (or equivalent)
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Varying degrees of experience would include from 3 - 20 years experience in a biotechnology, medical device, or pharmaceutical organization.
Experience in qualitative and quantitative vibrational spectroscopy method development, along with a working knowledge of classification algorithms (such as principle component analysis and spectral search) desired
A thorough understanding of the basics of analytical chemistry and specifically demonstrated expertise in Raman spectroscopy is required.
Experience in scientific instrumentation markets a plus
