Job Description:	Essential Job Functions: - Day to day UNIX/Linux support - Development of scripts and programs to support business requirements - Monitoring of operational environment to insure agreed upon service levels are being maintained - Work with 3 party organizations on the configuration and support of large scale Web and database applications and to insure Service level agreements are maintained   - Develop disaster recovery plans and associated backup strategies - Provide management with operational metrics across environments - Provide first line support for Enterprise applications. - Manage the daily work assignments of a junior operations support technician - Maintain documentation of environment and associated components ( Programs / Scripts /Cron  Jobs etc..)   - Develop and execute project plans     Experience   - Development of Unix scripts and program using other programming languages (such as Python) to support business requirements - Unix configuration for Solaris and Linux - Daily OS administration, production monitoring and support  - Support of large scale public web environment using Apache / Tomcat / WebSphere - Use of all common Unix tools to manipulate data - especially web logs - Working with 3 party hosting companies       Skills   - Strong technical knowledge of Solaris and Linux - Configuration knowledge for Solaris and Linux - Solaris/Linux OS Administration skills - Strong scripting ability using various scripting tools and languages - shell, Python, Perl - Knowledge of performance monitoring techniques and tools - Knowledge of Webservers (Apache, IIS) and Application Servers (WebSphere, JBoss, Oracle) - Ability to work on multiple tasks in a team environment. - Excellent communication skills
