Business Consultant - 3 Sr positions, 3 non-senior (2-3 year) NYC

Role Title: Senior/Business Consultant
Reports to: Manager of Professional Services US

Salary Senior: to $120K + bonus
Non: senior: to 90K + bonus
The short story: three roles, each requires specific business
experience:
1. Treasuries - will have experience with investment accounting or hedge
accounting or operational investment accounting, treasury operations,
profit & loss on trades (middle office/back office) 2. Trading systems:
knows trading, recording of transactions, p/l on trades, risks of trades
(front office/middle office) 3. Cash management: deals with the movement
of cash inside and outside of the enterprise, manages cash & liquidity
of positions and , manage operations andhow it flows.

This is a task oriented role, supports sales funciton, communicates
requirements and gaps in the product to the development teams.

Travel is extensive and the candidate will be based out of the NYC
office.

Main Purpose of the Role
The client develops and markets leading edge treasury, risk,
forecasting, cash management, and accounting sub-ledger software for
corporations, governments and financial institutions, asset managers,
and debt managers with global reach. The company is fast paced and has
customers across the world. The organization balances product and
customer orientation. Its members tend to be multifaceted and enjoy
challenges.

As part of a software implementation team, the Business Consultant
analyzes customer requirements for highly specialized financial software
functionality, implements software functionality that meets these
requirements, writes functional specifications for customer specific
development items, and helps customers tune their operations for maximum
efficiency.

Key Accountabilities

The Business Consultant's responsibilities are to:

* Choose and implement the correct software functionality to meet
customer requirements.
* Prepare user requirement specifications for initial analysis
with
Product Experts
* Produce, analyze, verify and give feedback on requirement
specifications
* Provide analytical support to clients in implementing our
products
with a focus in treasury/accounting functions
* Test new/existing functionality, conduct quality assurance for
tasks
and deliverables.
* Use knowledge of the industry, technology and business processes
to
handle projects or sub-projects and deliver agreed outputs with minimal
supervision.
* Manage and consistently meet client expectations within the
scope of
the The client's project role.
* Perform market studies
* Support Sales team on identifying and specifying gap lists

* Recommend alternative methods to meet customer's functional
requirements if these are not met by product functionality.
* Communicate market/client needs forward to Business development
and
R&D in order to enhance/develop the product. This may also involve
writing specifications.
* Understand and analyze the client's business processes and
functional
requirements for financial software.
* Build and sustain ongoing relationships of openness and trust
with
clients, and respond appropriately to political issues in the client's
organization.
* Participate in client and partner and internal staff training.

Scope of management
* No staff management duties for Business Consultant.
* A Senior Consultant has to mentor other consultants by working
in
parallel in projects.

Work environment
The job is located in New York, USA, with extensive travel in the
Americas and potentially other regions.

Required education

* B.S. or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics
or
B.A. or equivalent in Business, Finance, Accounting or quantitative
area. MBA, M. Finance, Business, Accounting, Computer Science,
Mathematics, Financial Engineering or equiv. a plus.

Required experience

The Business Consultant is expected to have the following Experience;

* 6 years experience in the financial industry, preferably working
in a
large corporate, bank or investment management firm
* 4 years experience of accounting and reporting in multinational
business.
* Experience of Corporate Treasury gained at a global corporate at
a
managerial level or with responsibility of a function within treasury
* A proven track record in project work is appreciated
* Thorough understanding of treasury functions within a corporate
treasury.

* Fluent in English, Spanish, French and/or other languages an
asset.

* Experience of working in an international environment

2) Hard skills
2.1 General

* Knowledge of Implementation/Upgrade Processes: assign to them
and
apply them in practice
* Excellent understanding of risk and control measurement
* Good understanding of IAS 39 and FAS 133 issues
* Deep knowledge of financial industry, instruments and market
* Product Knowledge In depth knowledge of the whole system (FO,
MO, BO
and ACC)
* Strong working knowledge in information systems, specifically
UNIX/Windows NT environments is a plus
* Understanding of technologies and business problems as well as
product
implementation and integration
* Knowledge and experience from the financial industry
* Knowledge of The client's products is an asset
