Technical Business Analyst / Application Support Specialist

 

Job description:

Work directly with the IT staff of a Los Angeles based investment management firm specializing in fixed income assets on maintenance, implementations, upgrades and automation between programs. Some of the responsibilities and job exposure include: *Assist in the administration of Portia and Bloomberg Gateway (Poms) *Provide operations department support for Portia including user security, report writing, importing and general maintenance. *Act as a liaison between the business and technology units, assisting in the design, development and implementation of applications in support of fixed income trade flow *Plan, design, develop, and launch efficient information systems and operations systems in support of core organizational functions which specifically are: - Foreign denominated security and transactions - Ratings - Bank debt repayment schedules - Industries Technical Requirements *Experienced in writing and managing business specifications, technical specifications, training and communication plans, as well as other project documentation in the financial services arena. *Minimum of 6 years experience with financial systems support / development / administration / finance knowledge *Strong knowledge of investment accounting and process flows including relationships of Portfolio, Security, Transactions etc. *Experienced in buy side investment trading or analytic/risk management systems in the project/product manager role. Working knowledge of fixed income, liquidity and derivative securities and investment processes. *Ability to interact with all levels of management
