Position / Title      Manager I
Application is: Global Stock Box (GSB) is the next generation global trading front-end for single stock trading of equities. GSB will be deployed as part of our Global Triton product.
Responsibilities of the Initial Assignment (What will the person be doing?) Hands-on management of Global Stock Box team which is 4 developers distributed across 4 countries: Europe, Canada, US and Australia.  Will work under guidance of product management on the development of a new trading platform for single stock trading. In particular, will be managing and contributing to the development of the platform/framework and the country specific extensions (plug-ins) to that platform. Framework may include work on Window management/layout or integration with server components that provide trading services. Plug-in examples include: Level 2 display of market data, order entry toolbar and profit and loss view.   Currently work is being done on Canadian and European versions with Asia Pacific version just starting. US content will follow when the rest of the world is up and running.   Must be available for some extended hours due to the distributed nature of the job. Early or late meetings with developers in other countries. Schedule can be flexible to accommodate such meetings.   Work in an Agile (XP) Development environment
Essential Technical Knowledge / Skills What level of expertise is needed?   1 = Familiar With       3 = Working Knowledge of     5 = Expert 5 in technical leadership. Will need to be an enforcer on technical approach and process across many timezones. 5 in C#/.NET 5 multithreading and high performance UI experience 4 in OO design and programming (UML, C++, C#, etc) 4 on design patterns and best practices
Other Desired Skills / Experience Solid working knowledge of financial systems, especially those with comparable trading systems Knowledge of equity markets and trading systems are highly desired Options and Futures experience is desired Experience with International markets is a plus C++, Java and other OO languages are pluses
Will this position include production support responsibilities?  To what extent? Yes - On-going support and troubleshooting - approximately 10%
Degree Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field

Travel Requirements : Travel to LA office for training and then some limited international travel.
