The primary areas of responsibility for the Texas President will be:
Build the university brand in the State and meeting enrollment goals by leading marketing and outreach efforts in the State (with support from University Marketing and PR departments)
Establish relationships within the Texas higher education community, particularly partnerships with associate degree-granting colleges
Create partnerships with businesses in the State, including hospitals and school districts.
Work with employers, community-based and other non-profit organizations to spread the word about the university within Texas.
Raise funds to provide scholarships for underserved populations.
Work with government agencies to provide education opportunities.
Develop a sense of community among current students and alumni in the State.
Will be the face and voice of the university in Texas. Must have academic credentials and experience, but should be excellent in external outreach, media relations, and marketing, since the central challenge will be to promote our university throughout the State to students and employers. Will also oversee building relationships with community colleges, employers, students and graduates. Someone who is known and respected in the State or nationally in higher education circles. This individual will report directly to the President and serve as a member of the Executive Team.
